"juiced Up" Johnson Squeezes Adelaide Victory

Perth racer Grant Johnson in the Holden SS Grove Fruit Juice machine claimed his first win in V8 Ute racing for round one of the Yokohama
series at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide.

It was a clear run from pole position with all the action happening in his rear view mirror between Team IMB's Damien White and Ford driver
Kerry Wade.

"The fans were cheering like crazy for the Utes today I could hear them roar for the front runners even from the back" said Coopers Pale Ale
driver Ian McAlister.

White harassed Wade, forcing his way through in the final laps, and then set out for Johnson but the Holden hero had the legs to hold out the reigning champ. Early race frontrunner James Brock dropped back with
gear shifter problems mid race.

Marcus Zukanovic's brilliant race two effort in the Simonds Homes Ford late yesterday delivered him enough points to take overall third in the
round. Wade, Elsegood and Brock rounded out the top 6.

Yanis Derums in Kanga Loader's #41 ended his final lap in the turn nine tyre wall and veteran racer Denis Cribbin caused a three lap yellow flag
after spinning on entry to the front straight.

With a tight turnaround time between the Clipsal 500 and next weeks Australian Grand Prix, the ute transporters are already on their way back to Victoria for the non - championship three race appearance, before another appearance at Bathurst over the Easter weekend.
