The Australian Grand Prix has wrapped up for the Australian V8 Utes in an exciting finale seeing the front runners of the weekend scoring a hat
trick for the Western Australians.

The new 5.4 litre twin over head camshaft V8 BF Ford was victorious once again after an impressively fast drive by Perth driver Kerry Wade which secured the top podium position for the Skippers Transport and Ocean
Beach Hotel machine.

"I am very happy, especially for the Hi Tech team who have put in a
massive effort for Grant and I this weekend."

"Our Utes will prove to be a force to reckon with throughout the season,
given the speed of our team this weekend" said Wade.

Race two champion, Grant "Grunta" Johnson came in second to team mate Wade but did wipe out his 2:24:1712 record set yesterday by nearly two
whole seconds.

Jack "The Hustler" Elsegood in the Cooper's Pale Ale #11 green machine managed to hold onto his third place with James Small hot on his tail.

"I got off the line pretty well but I just couldn't make an impression on Grant and Kerry, they got a good start and I was actually lucky to
hold onto third," said Elsegood.

The three Coopers' drivers were not without their dramas with Ian "Macca" McAlister setting the scene for the most bizarre accident of the
day.

McAlister suffered brake failure in the #6 Ute and on re-entry to turn three came together with James Bergmuller who had spun in a completely
separate incident.

James Harrigan was investigated by the stewards for an on track incident
when he turned Gavin Bullas' Commodore around lap three.

Series 2005 Champion Damien White impressed the crowds manoeuvring through the pack from a rare sixteenth grid position coming in eighth thanks to Marcus Zukanovic's generosity by loaning a diff to Team IMB.

Zukanovic was a non starter due to engine failure in yesterday's race.
