The sun rose on a Good Friday of motor racing to witness the V8 Ute's "Return of the Mountain Masters" practice one and two of the WPS
Bathurst International Motor Festival.

James Brock took out the day with a 2:40:2848 with Bathurst legend Andrew Miedecke claiming the fastest lap time of the Masters.

The Andrew Miedecke - Jack "The Hustler" Elsegood team came in third for the day behind the James Brock, Gary Rogers duo and Marcus Zukanovic and
David Parsons.

"I know the track so well and practice felt very comfortable, it was a little hard to judge when to brake with the Utes but that is just a matter of getting use to the different car. It is great to be back on the Mountain. that McPhilliamy corner is my favourite corner in the
world," said Miedecke.

The same wall however had a magnetic effect on the #24 Holden Protec/ JFTA Ute, with both Nandi Kiss and co-driver Graham Moore having mirror image incidents impacting the front left corner putting the team to work
for the night to have it race ready for tomorrow.

Garry Treloar will not be taking the grid after McPhilliamy also claimed his Holden SS #4 with a hard hit destroying the front end of the car
causing its withdrawal from the event.

Treloar's legend co-driver Neil Crompton will not be disappointed as Barry Seton has elected to step aside to focus on his historic touring car races and allow the Network 10 personality to take his place in
reigning champion, Damien White's, Team IMB Ford.

"Bo has stepped aside from the race which means I now have the opportunity to team with 1994 Bathurst 24 hour race winner Neil Crompton. The positive from that is that I can now say I have shared a drive at Bathurst with Seton and Crompton - how cool!!" said White.

Marcus Zukanovic, out of the recent Australian Grand Prix due to engine failure has spent 13 hectic days to get his Ute "Black Betty" out on the Mount Panorama circuit and came in only 0.07 seconds behind Brock.

"I'm stoked to be here, the track is great, that top section is a bit of a handful but with Skippy Parsons on my side we should be a tough team
to beat this weekend," said Zukanovic.

At noon tomorrow all the Return of the Mountain Masters drivers will meet to draw the grid position via a ballot for race one tomorrow
afternoon at 4:15pm.
