The Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series Round Two grid is set following Qualifying at Sydney's Oran Park and it is a head to head battle against 2006 series leader Grant "Grunta" Johnson on pole position and 2005
series champ Damien "Iceman" White.

The Round One Clipsal 500 winner clocked in the fastest time of 1:20.9654 on his first lap in his Holden SS Commodore during the
afternoons Qualifier.

"I am pretty confident going into race one, Hi-Tech Motor Sport has the Grove Fruit Juice Commodore in pole position and the car is certainly proving to be consistent. I have been on pole before at Oran Park and was done for a jumped start so I am hoping to make it count tomorrow
morning," said Johnson.

Wollongong's Team IMB made an impression at their home track with Damien
White setting the second fastest time in his new Ford BF.

"I brought old faithful, last years championship winning Ute in case, but practice sessions told us to take the chance with the BF and a front row qualifying position proves Team IMB made the right choice," said
White.

It was a close second row with South Australian Gary "Chuckie" Baxter taking third and Melbourne's James Small nipping in close for fourth.

Small has proved he has what it takes behind the wheel of the V8 Ute after securing a third in Adam Brand's BVC Ford at the Australian Grand
Prix.

"The Coopers Pale Ale #46 is going really well, we tuned the old girl up and bolted on some tyres and things just came to life. I would really love to make a go of the V8 Ute category but it is just a matter of
getting the right backing," said Small.

Matt Kingsley finally had a stroke of luck getting his #16 Tyres and More Holden SS V8 Ute in for a fifth position after practice followed up
with a solid qualifying performance to finish in eleventh.

Third fastest Holden is Queensland driver Matt O'Grady who finished seventh fastest and ahead of team mate's James Brock Commodore.

Other solid performances came from Jack Elsegood, Marcus Zukanovic,
Kerry Wade and Ashley Cooper.

It was an action packed day for the V8 Utes and Sunday's program should
provide some spectacular racing for the fans.

Race one kicks off at 9.25am with the reverse grid showdown at 12.30pm
and the final battle of the podium at 2:35pm.

Race One Grid Positions

Johnson 1:20:96 Holden
White 1:21.16 Ford
Baxter 1:21.42 Holden
Small 1:21.44 Ford
Elsegood 1:21.47 Ford
Zukanovic 1:21.52 Ford
O'Grady 1:21.72 Holden
Wade 1:21.93 Ford
Cooper 1:22.24 Ford
