V8 Development Series Perkins Prepares To Rise To The Challenge At Wakefield Park
V8 Supercars are arguably Australia's most popular form of Motorsport and this weekend (May 26 - 28) Goulburn's Wakefield Park Raceway will get its annual fix with the running of round two of the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series.

A field of 38-cars have nominated for the second round which will see an array of the sports rising stars as they battle tooth and nail around the
2.2km Wakefield Park circuit for ascendancy.

The driver everyone will be chasing is Adam Macrow (Ford Falcon) who took out the opening round in South Australia, and if form counts for anything Macrow is the favourite this weekend too, especially since it was this time last year at Wakefield Park when he took out the his first round victory.

Hot on the heals of Macrow in the Championship standings are Michael Caruso (Ford Falcon), Wayne Wakefield (Ford Falcon), Nathan Pretty (Holden Commodore) and Mark Porter (Ford Falcon), with all of the above looking to build on their current position with a strong outing at Wakefield Park.

Former multiple Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series runner-up Matthew White (Ford Falcon) is confident of making amends after a luckless opening round and a round win is something that he'll be shooting for. While youngsters Jack Perkins (the son of multiple Bathurst 1000 winner Larry) and Tony D'Alberto (both Holden Commodores) have their eyes set on making an impression inside
the Top 10.

The ever popular Yokohama V8 Ute's are ready to tear apart the Wakefield Park circuit with their spectacular brand of panel to panel racing. Western Australian Grant Johnson (Holden Commodore) leads the Championship after two rounds, which has seen round wins go to Johnson and ex Rugby League star
Jack Elsegood (Ford Falcon) respectively.

V8 Ute's around Wakefield Park are always thrilling and the action is always fast and furious, especially this weekend when you consider that defending Champion, Damian White (Ford Falcon) currently lies seventh and he'll be doing all in his power to claim the round victory, something that he
achieved last year.

The Wright Patton Shakespeare Carrera Cup will make its first Wakefield Park appearance and a slice of history will also be created with the first pit stop to be held in the history of the Carrera Cup during the opening race. Never before in the World has the Carrera Cup held a race that included a
pit stop.

New Zealand's Craig Baird leads the Championship, but he won't have it is easy with drivers such as multiple Bathurst 1000 and Targa Tasmania winner Jim Richards, Alex Davison, Klark Quinn, Peter Fitzgerald, Ian Dyk, David Reynolds all hunting for success to help their Championship cause.

Also on the support program are the GT Performance Cars and Lotus Trophy.

The Capa Motor Bike Stunt Team will also make appearances throughout the weekend and they are a sight to be seen. What these guys can do on a Motor Bike is truly unbelievable and it certainly leaves spectators with their
hearts in their mouths.

Wakefield Park is located 10 km south of Goulburn on the Braidwood Road, approximately 2 hours drive from Sydney and less than 1 hour from Canberra.

It is unique among Australian circuits in offering spectators a 'view from the comfort of your car' facility on its hillside spectator area, with FM radio broadcasting of commentary available through the car radio.

For further details and ticketing information contact the Wakefield Park office on 0248 22 2811 during business hours, or visit their official
