Elsegood/miedecke Delivered Belated Bathurst Win
Following post event scrutineering, Coopers Pale Ale drivers Jack Elsegood and Andrew Miedecke have been awarded the number one spot on the Bathurst podium following the recent V8 Utes "Return of the Mountain Masters" legendsevent at Mt Panorama over the Easter weekend.
The change in result follows the exclusion of the race winning Marcus
Zukanovic/David Parsons Ford on a technical issue.
Zukanovic was excluded from the Bathurst meeting and fined $2,500 following a tribunal hearing convened at the recent Wakefield Park series round.
This promotes the Team IMB entry of Damien White and Neil Crompton to second overall, and Holden's Matt O'Grady and veteran Kevin Bartlett to third.
"What a great result for the Coopers team, both Andrew and I had a ball over the Bathurst weekend, so we'll take the outright win even though we didn't
get the main trophy on the day," Elsegood said.
"This is a great way to return to the mountain after so many years," said
Elsegood's co-driver Andrew Miedecke.
"We were always on the pace from the very first practise session, and knew
we had the package to win."
Jack Elsegood is a top contender for the end of season championship, currently second overall after Round Three at Goulburn's Wakefield Park.
Hidden Valley, Darwin will host Round Four of the Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series and no doubt Elsegood will be on the pace to secure his position on
top of the podium once more.
Racing starts Friday June 30 through to Sunday 2,as the major support
category for the V8 Supercars Round Five event.
