'yappa' Motocross Open Primed For Balranald
The Balranald Motorcycle Club Inc will host the annual running of the 'Yappa' Motocross Open this weekend (October 28 - 29) where local junior and senior riders will take to the Balranald MVRG track in chase for glory.
Entries for both junior and senior classes have been very encouraging as well over 100 riders are set to partake in the two day event. Riders will not only fight it out for the ‘Yappa’ Open, but senior riders will also have the opportunity to win some extra prize money, in the ‘dash for cash’ events.
Classes in the ‘Yappa’ Open include 50cc – division 2 (7 to under 12 years), 65cc (7 to under 11 years), 65cc (11 to under 13 years), 85cc (9 to under 12 years), 85cc (12 to under 12 years), and 125cc 2-stroke / 250cc 4-sttoke (13 to under 16 years) for juniors, and seniors classes will consist of 125cc 2-stroke and 250cc 4-stroke (A, B and C grade), 250cc 2-stroke and 450cc 4-stroke (A, B and C grade), 2 and 4-stroke Enduro (combined), 251cc 2-stroke and 452cc 4-stroke and over (A, B, and C grade), veterans (over 35 years – combined), and Womens Open (combined).
Junior riders will battle it out over 5 motos (heats), with the top three riders to receive trophies, whilst the seniors it is the same rundown, with substantial prize money and sashes to be awarded to the top three places getters in each class.
In the ‘dash for cash’ event which is open to senior riders (with the exception of Veterans, 2 and 4 stroke Enduro classes), who place inside the top six of their respective classes, will go into the running to claim the extra $400 prize money, or $250 for second and $150 for third. The prize money on offer for the Womens category is $200, second $150 and third $50. A and B grade dash for cash events are over a distance of 15 minutes and one lap, whilst the C grade is 12 minutes plus one lap.
All in all the ‘Yappa’ Open promises to be an exciting two day motocross event.
