WPS Bathurst 12 Hour - Hour Two Update

Tony Ricciardello continues to lead the way after two hours in the WPS Bathurst 12 Hour Showroom Enduro at Mount Panorama.

The West Australian driver completed a double stint aboard the West Surfing Products Mitsubishi Evo X ahead of Damien White, who was a part of the winning team last year.

The first car to pit was Steve Owen in the Supabarn Supermarkets Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX when he pitted in an attempt to recitfy an issue with fifth gear.

Late in the hour Eric Bana took to the circuit for the first time in the race aboard the Love the Beast Mistibushi Evo X. An engine misfire has hampered the team’s progression throughout the hour and are currently placed 35th.

Australian motor racing icons Neil Crompton and Glenn Seton were running strongly and up to sixth spot prior to an issue with the car's turbo. As a consequence they have dropped to 36th place.

There are a number of good battles going on for the lead in respective classes, including Leanne Tander and Peter McLeod battling for the lead in Class F aboard their Honda Interga and Holden Astra entries.

Late in the hour Grant Johnson made heavy contact with the wall in the Hi Tech Motorsport ute and Nathan Tinkler suffered a flat right front tyre at the same time in the #17 Ford Falcon FG GT-P. These two incidents, as well as oil and debris on the circuit at the top of the mountain has brought about the first safety car of the race.

The leaders have completed 44 laps.
