A strong finish to the fourth round of the NSW Moto Trials Championship on Sunday (May 17) at the Mt. Kembla Motorcycle Complex (South Coast of NSW) has rewarded current Australian Champion Colin Zarczynski with victory in the ‘Expert’ class over youngster Kyle Middleton.

It was Middleton; who is regarded as one of the emerging stars in the sport of Moto Trials that paced the field for the majority of the day but it was the class of Zarczynski that shone through in the end and when it mattered most.

Zarczynski topped the round podium in the ‘Expert’ class by scoring a total of 44 points over the 10 course three round contest and he narrowly finished ahead of Middleton with 47 points and in third place was Zarczynski’s brother, Kevin, with 68 points. Nowra’s Jake Walker showed plenty of fight to finish just off the podium in fourth place with a total of 88 points.

In the battle of the ‘Junior 100cc’ class it was Thomas Ring that managed to snap the winning streak that Kiama’s Jarad Boniface had enjoyed in the NSW Championship. In similar style to that of Zarczynski in the ‘Expert’ class; Ring sat in second behind Boniface is the first three rounds but he managed to sneak through for the win with a strong performance in the fourth and final round. Boniface (13 points) finished second behind Ring (11 points) overall, while Jonty Boorer finished in third place.

The ‘Junior 80cc’ class resulted in Thomas Black taking out the winning honours with 15 points and finished just behind him was James Boyle with a total of 13 points.

Malcolm Chapman scored a comfortable victory in the ‘Post Classic Twin-shock’ class by scoring 12 points ahead of Frank Hull (33) and David Wynn (51).

In the ‘Veterans’ class Greg Nordsvan claimed the win with a total of 15 points and finishing behind him in second and third respectively on the podium was Peter Curtis (23 points) and Ross Middleton (34).

Martin O’Connor was simply too good for his rivals in the ‘Masters’ class with 19 points and he finished ahead of Rob Black (31 points) and David Pratten (32).

Other class winners were: Rob Jones (A Grade), Richard Zarczynski (B Grade), Rhys Collins (C Grade), Sam Bingley (Youth) and Peter Legrove (Clubman).

The fifth round of the NSW Moto Trials Championship is to be held on Sunday, June 7 up at Coffs Harbour.
