Description
Despite testing restrictions placed upon the Kmart Racing team due to complicated ownership issues during the 2003 season, Murphy produced one of his finest seasons to date. He dominated the Bob Jane T-Marts Bathurst 1000 with team-mate Rick Kelly, won a third straight Placemakers V8 International at Pukekohe and finished second overall in series points. Three Bathurst victories (1996, 1999 and 2003) coupled with Murphy’s often outspoken, but easy-going, approachable nature have made him a firm favourite with both the media and race fans. Now with the limitations well and truly lifted, Murphy enters the new V8 Supercar season ready to challenge for the title, the Kiwi ace looking to go one better in 2004.-
